Plant Bio:

Iris ‘clarence’ is a striking tall bearded iris with white standards tinted violet, contrasting with the light blue- violet falls and creamy beard. Rising 35” tall atop a lovely blue-green sward-shaped foliage, it is also a wonderful reblooming iris. As an added bonus, it is sweetly fragrant too!

Watering Requirements

Moderately – keep soil moist but not soaking. Water during summer in particular, once established they generally don’t require regular watering.

Feeding Requirements

Annually in spring with a low-nitrogen granular fertilizer.

Pruning Time & Tips

Deadhead spent blooms, cut back foliage in late fall. Dig up the entire clump and divide every few years.

Common Pests & Diseases

Slugs, Snails, Aphids, Thrips, Whiteflies, Bacterial Leaf Blight, Botrytis Rot and Crown Rot.

Troubleshooting:

If aphids do appear, they can cause some leaf-spotting. Use neem oil or an insecticidal soap to reduce their impact.
