Watering Requirements
Moderately – when the top 2” of soil is dry. Especially during hot dry spells. At least 1” per week.

Once a year with a moderate nitrogen rich fertilizer in early spring after the last frost.

Deadheading increases bloom time – cut back to the ground in winter.
To avoid common diseases like powdery mildew, downy mildew, or fungal leaf spots, avoid overhead watering and apply a fungicide if the disease becomes rampant and destroy leaf material.
