Goldstrum yellow black-eyed susan is a colorful, fuss-free border plant and excellent choice for cut flowers. Bright, daisy-like golden yellow flowers with black centers cover the dark green foliage. Tolerates heat, humidity, and clay soil. Honored as the 1999 Perennial Plant of the Year.
Watering Requirements
Moderately – when the top 2” of soil is dry. Especially during hot dry spells. At least 1” per week.
Feeding Requirements
Once a year with a moderate nitrogen rich fertilizer in early spring after the last frost.
Pruning Time & Tips
Deadheading increases bloom time – cut back to the ground in winter.
