Helleri japanese holly is a dwarf broadleaf evergreen shrub that is low-growing, dense, and compact with a spreading mound. It can flower if both male and female plantings are present in the landscape. These are small non-showy, greenish-white flowers in the spring and they produce small black drupes in fall.
Watering Requirements
Regularly – weekly, or more often in extreme heat or in containers. At least 1” per week.
Feeding Requirements
Once a year, lightly, with an acidic slow-release fertilizer. Apply in early spring after the last frost.
Pruning Time & Tips
Annually in winter or early spring. Prune to maintain shape and dense growth.
