Plant Bio:

Red head fountain grass is charming perennial grass forming a dense clump of gracefully arching linear leaves. Deep green in summer, they turn gold in the fall before fading to buff in winter. In mid to late summer, showy smoky, dark red, bottlebrush flowers resembling large foxtails are produced above the leaves. They arch outward from the foliage clump and are particularly dramatic when backlit.

Watering Requirements

Regularly – once or twice weekly for first three months after planting. Once established, it rarely requires water. Aim for 1” per week.

Feeding Requirements

Once a year with a balanced slow-release fertilizer. Apply in spring.

Pruning Time & Tips

Annually in late winter or very early spring. Cut to 2” above the ground for a clean and fresh look each year.
