Plant Bio:

Fatsia japonica ‘spider’s web’ is a bushy, evergreen shrub prized for its lush foliage of broad, palmate, dark-green leaves heavily-speckled with white. The variegation changes with the seasons and as the plant ages. In the fall, terminal clusters of white flowers are on display. They gave way to ornamental, glossy, black berries. A desirable evergreen shrubs adding blood texture and drama to containers and mixed borders.

Watering Requirements

Often – once or twice weekly, and more often in extreme heat. At least 1” per week.

Feeding Requirements

Once a year with a balanced slow-release fertilizer. Apply in late spring after the last frost.

Troubleshooting:

Aralia can tend to form suckers as they age, meaning it will send up new shoots surrounding the base of the plant. If you want to limit its spread, dig these out. Transplant them in another area of your shady garden, try them out in your house as a houseplant, or gift them to a friend.
