Plant Bio:

Variegated euonymus, also called ‘winter creeper euonymus’, is a dense woody-stemmed, broadleaf evergreen to semi-evergreen shrub that comes in a variety of forms. Most often grown as a sprawling, indefinitely-spreading groundcover. It features lustrous, ovate to elliptic green leaves 1-2” long, variegated with white. Produces showy red fruit in the fall.

Watering Requirements

Moderately – when the top 3” of soil is dry. Especially during hot dry spells. At least 1” per week.

Feeding Requirements

Once a year with a balanced slow-release fertilizer. Apply in spring.

Pruning Time & Tips

Light shaping annually in late winter or early spring. If hard cut back – do so after flowering has finished.

Common Pests & Diseases

Scale, winter Leaf Burn, Anthracnose, Powdery Mildew, Aphids and Crown Gall.

Troubleshooting:

Treat for scale by pruning off infected branches and/or by applying a horticultural oil at the appropriate times of the growing season. This can help to time up the insecticide with the bug’s hatch cycle.
