Plant Bio:

Showy plumed flower spikes adorn this outstanding bloomer for cooler climate gardens, or where protected from hot afternoon sun. Its smaller stature is perfect for containers or in clusters at the front of beds, in shade to dappled sun. Raspberry pink flowers add a great color accent to the landscape. An herbaceous perennial.

Watering Requirements

Often – water two to three times a week. Keep soil moist but not soaking. At least 1” per week.

Feeding Requirements

Once a year with a phosphorous rich slow-release fertilizer. Apply in late spring after the last frost in moist soil.

Pruning Time & Tips

Deadhead in summer and cut back annually in late winter or very early spring.

Asiatic Garden Beetle, Black Vine Weevil, Leaf Spot, Powdery Mildew and Wilt.

As astilbe prefers moist soil, that can easily tip to too much moisture and promote fungal diseases. If you suspect a fungal disease is present, like powdery mildew, leaf spot, etc.
